Many young students including me have asked the same question when your parents (and mine) told me that you have to study to pass a test, which makes you eligible to go to CTY, is it really worth it? For all those non-CTYers, CTY is summer camp around the world and it is mainly sponsored by Johns Hopkins University. Center for Talented Youth (CTY) gives you 2 subjects to be tested on, math and English. When you pass one of them or both, you can choose a course for the session, there are 2 sessions in a year. Anyway, the answer is most definitely. To tell why CTY is worth it, I will tell you my experience in CTY. This year was my 3rd year in CTY, but my first dormitory life started last year ago and how to enjoy it. Which I enjoyed it very deeply. When this year's summer break came around, I was thrilled to go back to CTY. To my luck, it was even better than last year. Nor like last year, I didn’t just stand back and just play video games, this year, I talked, interacted, danced, yell (especially), make good friends, and learn. The key is to just enjoy life there since everyone in there passes the test, they will get your nerdy jokes. And don’t be afraid to talk to people, in my 3 years in CTY, there is no bully nor “meanies”. The friends you make in there will be the best kind of friends you will meet. That’s why when I left, I was depressed, and still after 3 days. So, don’t forget to get their numbers. So, if you a chance to go to CTY, do whatever it takes.
