The Messerschmitt 262
(The Secret Weapon)
The ME 262 or Messerschmitt 262 was well known as the first fighter jet ever during that time. The Messerschmitt 262 was made in World War 2 made by a German scientist named Willy Messerschmitt. As you can see it got its unique name from the creator. The history said it was used as a bomber fighter, but it was actually being built for a fighter, not bomber. But after Hitler saw the potential of these metal machines and used as a bomber. An expert fighter pilot tries to convince Hitler to make the Messerschmitt 262 a fighter plane, but he didn’t change the Messerschmitt 262’s purpose.
The plane used a Junker Jumbo 004 engine. It is known that 1,430 were made but only a few saw the actual dogfight. This new weapon was meant to change the war, as the Allies was successful with the D-day, now the Russians and the Allies were approaching Belgium like a lightning. But the mountain, where the Germans used as a factory and also a bunker, couldn’t get the jets in the sky before the Allies bomber bomb the place, only 9 survive right now. Now it survives as a reminder what never should happen again.
